Nexus Central Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Stevens Water Monitoring Systems, Inc. (“Stevens Water,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the Nexus Central mobile application and the Stevens Connect services that support it (collectively, the “Services”).
Scope
Nexus Central is intended for authorized users who configure, monitor, and operate supported water-monitoring and hydrant devices. Your employer, utility, or other organization may also control information in its Nexus Central account and may have its own privacy notices and requirements.
Information We Handle
- Account and organization information. We process information such as your name, email address, organization, assigned role, authentication credentials, and account preferences to provide and secure your account.
- Device and operational information. The Services process identifiers, configuration, sensor and measurement data, schedules, command status, and related records for supported devices and the projects or stations you are authorized to access.
- Nearby-device information. Nexus Central uses Bluetooth to discover and communicate with supported nearby devices. This can include a device name, Bluetooth identifier, signal information, configuration, and readings.
- Location permission. Some operating-system versions require location permission for Bluetooth discovery. Nexus Central does not use that permission to store or share your precise location.
- On-device information. The app stores preferences, authentication state, device metadata, and downloaded readings on your device. If you enable “Remember me,” your saved credentials are kept using the device platform’s secure storage. You can delete saved reading files from the app or remove app data through your device settings.
- Service and support information. Our systems may process standard network and request information, such as IP address, request time, requested endpoint, and error details. We also process messages and troubleshooting information you choose to send to support.
How We Use Information
- Authenticate users and enforce organization, project, and device access.
- Provide device discovery, configuration, monitoring, data access, and supported hydrant controls.
- Save your preferences and provide features you request, including data downloads and exports.
- Maintain security, prevent misuse, diagnose errors, and improve reliability.
- Respond to support requests and communicate about the Services.
- Comply with applicable law and enforce our agreements.
Sharing and Service Providers
We may share information with your authorized organization administrators; infrastructure, hosting, content-delivery, security, and support providers that help us operate the Services; professional advisers; or authorities when required by law or necessary to protect rights and safety. These providers receive information only for the services they perform for us.
When you use an operating-system share action to export a file, the destination you select handles that file under its own privacy practices. The app also obtains a charting library from a content-delivery network, which may receive standard connection information such as your IP address and user-agent information.
We do not sell personal information. Nexus Central does not contain third-party advertising SDKs, and we do not use the app to track you across other companies’ apps or websites for targeted advertising.
Data Retention
We retain account, organization, operational, and service records for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, meet contractual and legal obligations, maintain security, and resolve disputes. Retention may also be controlled by your organization. Information stored locally remains on your device until you delete it, clear the app’s data, or uninstall the app, subject to your device’s backup settings.
Your Choices and Rights
You can control Bluetooth and location permissions in your device settings, disable “Remember me,” delete locally saved readings in the app, and choose whether and where to share exported files. Disabling a required permission may prevent nearby-device features from working.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Your organization administrator may be the appropriate first contact for organization-controlled records. You may also contact us using the information below. We may need to verify your request and retain information where the law permits or requires it.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No storage or transmission system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International Processing
Information may be processed in the United States and in other locations where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
Children’s Privacy
The Services are designed for organizational and professional use and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information through the Services.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the Services or legal requirements change. We will post the updated policy here, revise the effective date, and provide additional notice when required.
